TITLE:
Career Technical Education (CTE) Special Education Career Coach
JOB GOAL:
To assist special education students in locating, securing, and maintaining employment
FLSA STATUS:
Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO:
Principal and Career Technical Education (CTE) Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or its equivalent College degree preferred Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457 Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using varied teaching/coaching methods to maximize student learning and job success Proficiency in oral and written communication skills Possess and maintain a valid driver's license Ability to provide personal transportation to travel to schools and work sites as needed Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups Ability to solve problems as a productive team member Ability to use technology to communicate, to plan and provide instruction, to facilitate student learning, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or financial information Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities Ability to plan and implement effective job coaching activities Ability to be punctual and in regular Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of career technical education and work place skills. Assists in finding employment for special education students as Plans and attends job fairs with students as Demonstrates professionalism in appearance and in attitude at all Determines students' abilities and interests to provide guidance in job Instructs students in the use, care, maintenance, and safe operation of program equipment and tools in the assigned work setting. Maintains contact with business/industry community to keep abreast of job entry requirements, current technology and practices.
