Principal Software Engineer

Join AZAD as a Principal Software Engineer and design, develop, and test software for industry leading laser via drilling systems. This position will define and execute software development plans and roadmap, analyze and determine system software test standards and procedures, and determine hardware compatibility and/or hardware design solutions.
This is a full-time consultant position based in Portland, Oregon with a high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. The hourly pay rate range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.
Essential Functions:
Assist in defining and executing the software development plans and roadmap. Develop software programs to meet the requirements and constraints of the customer scope of work and exceed customer expectations. Work within and help to lead a highly skilled team to accomplish all the deliverables throughout the Software Product Lifecycle (design, development, testing, and implementation). Develop solutions to complex scientific problems. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Analyze and determine system software test standards and procedures. Determines hardware compatibility and/or hardware design solutions.
The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field (Math, Physics, or Engineering). 8+ years of related software engineering experience. Understanding of languages like C++ and C#. Experience with all aspects of a Software Development Life Cycle (design, development, testing, and implementation). Understanding of SOLID principles and object-oriented development. Valid U.S. Driver's License is required. Must be able to pass a federal criminal background and drug screening.
Preferred:
Experience in architecting, designing, and implementing control software for capital equipment. Graduate coursework. Expertise in machine vision.
