We have a rare opening for a Communications Manager in our Tacoma office. The Communications Manager will be an experienced storyteller and engagement strategist who will use their skills and abilities to help advance Elevate Health's mission and objectives. Their work will take many forms, from managing website content, to producing a variety of brand and story materials, to planning community engagement events. Reporting to the Director of Communications and working closely with members of the program and operation teams, the Communications Manager will develop and execute communications strategies engage audiences, including healthcare providers, tribal partners, community-based organizations, and community members.
Here's a sample of what you'll be doing:
Advancing the brand and reputation of Elevate Health by working closely with the Director of Communications to define, implement, and manage Elevate Health strategic communications strategies, projects, and initiatives. Writing, producing, and editing content for a wide range of communications outlets, including social media, newsletters, web pages, presentations, program brochures, etc. Collaborating with the administrative and program teams to deliver efficient and timely communications to Elevate Health's primary stakeholders and target audiences, including healthcare providers, tribal partners, community-based organizations, and Pierce County community members. Collaborating with colleagues to plan and execute engagement initiatives and events that connect community-based workers, organizational partners, and other communities of interest with the work of Elevate Health. Fostering connections with staff and community members that support collaborative storytelling and community engagement. Here's what we're looking for:
3-5 five years of experience in communications, with emphasis on producing mission-driven content and engagement programs. Experience working in a variety of communications software and platforms, including Canva, Mailchimp, Outlook, Teams, and InDesign. Demonstrated ability to gather a wide range of information, analyze the information into essential knowledge, and effectively communicate that knowledge. Strong communication and active listening skills with coworkers and a wide range of stakeholders. Strong organizational skills; attentional to detail, accuracy, and deadlines Willingness to work collaboratively across teams as needed. Preferred qualifications:
Experience in healthcare or social service communications AND/OR experience doing communications work in Pierce County. Functional video and photo editing skills Experience writing clear, concise copy for websites and other media. Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, media production, social work, public health or another related field.
