Riverside Health is currently seeking an Oncology Pharmacist.

Overview Clinical Pharmacy Specialists participate in all necessary aspects of the medication-use system while providing comprehensive and individualized pharmaceutical care to the patients in their assigned areas. Pharmaceutical care services include but are not limited to assessing patient needs, incorporating age and disease specific characteristics into drug therapy and patient education, adjusting care according to patient response, and providing clinical interventions to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse events. May be designated as being in charge.

What you will do

Delivers direct patient care and clinical practice, including decentralized and service-based programs by assessing patient needs, incorporating age and disease specific characteristics into drug therapy and patient education, adjusting care according to patient response, and providing clinical interventions to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse events. Provides pharmaceutical services throughout oncology service line and serves as departmental resource to other departments, hospital personnel or external groups. Leads assigned patient service lines, clinical areas, and therapeutic programs and,If applicable, participates in quality management with the goal of improving services by monitoring processes, analyzing data, implementing interventions to improve and evaluate the effectiveness of those interventions. Participates in pharmacy operations and medication dispensing with oversight of the pharmacy technicians and compounding practices assuring regulatory compliance. May assist with the compounding of admixtures if needed. Facilitates experiential education and practice advancement by or serving as preceptors or facilitating learning experiences for doctor of pharmacy students and pharmacy residents. Participates in clinical research and practice advancement projects as well as patient care quality and regulatory compliance initiatives designed to improve the medication use process or pharmacy practice. Personal Professional development that meets or exceeds expectations with Board certification in oncology or other specialty area. The clinical pharmacist will provide care in accordance with state and federal law and regulation, and facility policy and procedures. Qualifications

Education

Doctoral Degree, Pharmacy (Required) or Bachelors Degree, Pharmacy (Required) Experience

3-4 years Pharmacy Clinical Experience (includes residency experience), OR (Required) 2 years Pharmacy Clinical Experience including 1 year PGY1 residency (Required) 1 year ASHP PGY1 Residency (Preferred) 1 year ASHP PGY2 Residency (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications

Licensed Pharmacist - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) within 30 Days(Required) Board Certified Pharmacy Specialties (BCPS) - Board of Pharmacy Specialties Board of Pharmacy Specialties Upon Hire(Preferred) Board Certified Pharmacy Specialties (BCPS) - Board of Pharmacy Specialties Any Specialty Area within 2 Years(Required) Board Certified Pharmacy Specialties (BCPS) - Board of Pharmacy Specialties Oncology, within 6 years (Required) CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred)
