What We Need:
Brady Corporation is seeking a Firmware Engineering Manager to lead a talented team of firmware engineers responsible for the embedded software in Brady's inkjet printing systems. The Firmware Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the firmware engineers in new product development projects, enhancements and fixes to existing products, as well as technology investigations and evaluations. The Firmware Engineering Manager will be successful in this position by leveraging their expertise in embedded systems design, project management, and mentorship to guide the firmware engineers throughout the development process.
What You'll Be Doing:
Develop project requirements and resource plans to achieve market requirements for new product development of inkjet printing systems.
Support sustaining engineering for inkjet printing system products to maintain, address defects, correct product problems, and add new features identified by customers.
Coach and mentor firmware engineers, including providing career development planning and opportunities.
Provide technical expertise and contribute to the design and development of firmware for inkjet printing systems.
Participate in pull requests and code reviews to ensure architectural integrity and sound object-oriented design principles throughout the codebase.
Collaborate with other firmware teams to ensure seamless integration and manage interdependencies.
Work with electrical, mechanical, and test teams to define and track dependencies for delivering system-level features.
What You Will Need To Be Successful:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of firmware engineering or embedded software development utilizing Real-Time Operating Systems and C++.
2+ years in technical leadership, supervisory, or project management experience.
Experience in Scrum and Agile methodologies.
Familiarity with agile project management / work tracking software such as Azure DevOps or Jira
