BlueHalo is seeking a highly skilled

Principal Systems Engineer

with expertise in

Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD)

to join our team. As a

BMD Subject Matter Expert (SME) , you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the

Missile Defense System (MDS)

by facilitating the modeling, simulation, and analysis of advanced defense concepts. You’ll assess system gaps, develop innovative solutions, and support key modeling and simulation (M&S) efforts that influence the evolution of missile defense capabilities. If you have extensive experience in missile defense architecture and a passion for solving complex defense challenges, this is the role for you. Key Responsibilities:

Future Concept Definition: Facilitate the definition of future

MDS concepts

for modeling, simulation, and analysis, ensuring alignment with

warfighter

needs and evolving threats.

Architecture Analysis & Evaluation: Act as a

subject matter expert

in

MDS architecture , providing deep insights into future concept definition, architecture analysis, and reviewing preliminary results before delivering to customers.

Threat Assessment & Capability Development: Assess emerging threats, identify capability gaps and challenges, and develop innovative system mitigations and evolutions at the architecture level. Drive the next generation of

missile defense capabilities .

Modeling & Simulation (M&S): Lead M&S efforts related to future missile defense concepts, including advanced analysis on

High Performance Computing (HPC)

platforms, executing analysis plans, and evaluating results.

Reporting & Analysis: Develop and implement analysis plans, run M&S, perform detailed analyses, and prepare comprehensive reports. Provide insights and reviews of

analysis products

for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

12+ years of experience working in

missile defense-related

or other complex, large

DoD programs/projects . Proven expertise in

modeling, assessment , and

evaluation of future missile defense architectures . Deep understanding of the

current MDS architecture

and future concepts. Master's degree

in a

STEM

field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics). Active

Secret clearance

with the ability to obtain

TS/SCI . Desired Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI clearance

preferred. Experience with advanced

concepts and algorithms

for

modeling and simulation (M&S)

of MDS architectures. Experience with both

directed energy

and

kinetic energy weapons

in missile defense scenarios. Familiarity with

MATLAB

and/or

Python , along with experience in

High Performance Computing (HPC)

and

Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

techniques. Experience supporting

systems engineering

tasks related to missile defense architecture design and technology assessments. Specialized knowledge of

threat characterization ,

trajectories , and

RF/EO/IR sensing/signatures . Knowledge of

Cybersecurity gaps

and

future Cyber Architecture development

for missile defense systems. Experience in

multidisciplinary analysis

and optimization in environments involving complex physical phenomena. Proven ability to serve as a key

advisor

and collaborate across

DoD ,

Combatant Commands , and

industry experts . Education

Masters or better Licenses & Certifications

Secret Top Secret SCI preferred
