The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for a Maintenance Generalist Sub-Journey 2 for the Anchorage Correctional Complex (ACC) in Anchorage, Alaska. What You Will Be Doing: Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, this position is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and upkeep of both interior and exterior building components, systems, and structures at the Anchorage Correctional Complex. The role involves maintaining grounds, plants, and external structures, as well as conducting preventative maintenance on essential utilities and fixtures. Additionally, this position plays a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of maintenance machinery and equipment by performing a variety of essential tasks necessary for their smooth functioning. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance. Problem Solving:

Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information. Uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Planning and Evaluating:

Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements, short or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them. Coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals, monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
