SARC (The Sexual Assault/Spouse Abuse Resource Center) is seeking dedicated individuals to join us in our mission to be Harford County's lifeline for victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, child abuse, and stalking.

Established in 1978 through grassroots efforts, SARC has been at the forefront of providing essential services and support to those in need. From our humble beginnings, we've evolved into a comprehensive resource center offering shelter, advocacy, legal support, community outreach, and education services. About the Role:
As a Residential Advocate at SARC, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for residents of our shelter. Your responsibilities will include: Greeting residents and responding to their requests for assistance or supplies with compassion and empathy. Conducting intakes and orienting survivors and their children to the shelter, ensuring their initial needs are met. Maintaining cleanliness and order of the shelter, including restocking supplies, laundry, and conducting regular security checks. Providing crisis intervention services, including answering emergency hotlines, safety planning, and offering emotional support. Collaborating with on-call staff to address emergencies and issues related to residents. Schedule:
Friday 10pm to 10am
Saturday and Sunday 8pm to 10am
Salary:
$19.00 per hour, plus $2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 8pm and 8am.
Requirements
Necessary Skills:
Desire to gain experience working with victims/survivors of domestic violence. Attention to detail, emotional maturity, flexibility, and ability to work independently. Physical ability to climb steps and lift occasional bulky items. Requirements for Consideration:
A valid driver's license. Preferred Experience:
At least 1 year in crisis intervention. Benefits
