What You Will Be Doing:
As the Awards and Rankings Specialist, you will focus on legal directories and award opportunities for the firm and its lawyers. You will work closely with the Client Development Department to coordinate submissions to directories, including Chambers and Legal 500, and the Public Relations team on editorial-based awards and surveys. You will play an important role in promoting these recognitions on the firm’s internal and external channels. This role reports to the firm’s Communications and Public Relations Manager.
About the Role:
Identifies and tracks opportunities for the firm and its lawyers to compete for editorial-based awards in legal trades and business press. Drafts and coordinates the submission for 200+ surveys and awards.
Proactively provides input on upcoming nominations and shares best practices for award submissions. Serves as a go-to resource on the Public Relations team for questions about awards.
Works closely with Communications and Public Relations Director and Manager to report out results of legal directories and other submissions.
Partners with colleagues in Client Development to coordinate submissions to legal directories. Serves as resource for questions about submissions and provides information about best practices.
Drafts news items and ensures recognitions are shared internally and externally. Works across Public Relations and Marketing Communications teams to update recognitions on the firm’s website and in marketing materials.
Maintain Chambers and other directory profiles.
Plays an important role on the social media and client alert teams, including drafting social media posts and monitoring and processing and distributing client alerts.
Successfully performs multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail, while working on short cycle and long cycle projects alongside team members in a diverse team environment.
Interacting regularly with lawyers with significant exposure to firm leadership and partners.
Collaborates with members of the PR team and Client Development Department on other projects as needed.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with lawyers, staff, and award and directory contacts.
Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Contributes to the firm's Service Excellence initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally. Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.

Required Experience
Education:
BA/BS required.
Experience:
Three to five years of public relations, communications, marketing or journalism experience preferred.
Law firm experience strongly preferred.
