Pay Rate:
15.00/hour
Location : The Village of Tanglewood, a luxury Independent Living senior community
Shift Available : 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. | Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Safely drive the community vehicle to and from assigned destinations.
Help residents get into and out of the vehicle safely.
Follow all operating safety procedures and observe all traffic laws.
Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to ensure stability during transport.
Practice safe driving techniques always.
Immediately report any accidents or vehicle damage to the Executive Director or Manager on Duty.
Clean the vehicle, ensure it is sufficiently fueled, and report any maintenance needs to the Director of Maintenance or Executive Director.
Establish and monitor daily and weekly trip inspections and preventative maintenance programs, maintaining records regarding the maintenance and mileage of all vehicles.
Assist residents with their belongings.
Maintain a safe driving record that meets company guidelines and insurance requirements.
Handle emergency situations and provide basic First Aid.
Report any potentially unsafe conditions to the Executive Director.
Build and maintain healthy relationships while confidently interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
Perform other tasks as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
1 year of related experience.
Valid Driver’s License with an excellent driving record.
Professional communication and customer service skills.
Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
Ability to operate a fourteen (14) passenger bus, unless otherwise required by state law.
Ability to use tire changing equipment, First Aid Kit, wheelchair lift, and dollies/hand trucks.
Experience with vehicle emergency repairs, such as changing automobile tires and handling minor on-road maintenance.
Ability to meet and comply with the Motor Vehicle Record Policy standards.
Experience with maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, HVAC filters, painting, and unit make-ready is a plus.
CDL preferred.
