The current hiring base salary range for this role is:
Security Architect:
$102,306.00/year - $116,117.76/year
Security Architect Senior:
$111,634.00/year - $125,588.70/year
UCare anticipates paying within the above-references salary range for this position. The actual base salary offer for this position will be determined by a variety of components including but not limited to work experience, education, certifications, location of the role, internal equity, and other relevant factors.

Position Description
As a Security Architect/Security Architect Senior, you will be responsible to ensure effective and efficient Information Security system functionality including but not limited to: directory services, endpoint security, web security, logging infrastructure, network intrusion prevention. Work proactively and reactively to resolve security infrastructure system issues in an efficient, timely, and effective manner, to maximize business productivity and minimize business downtime. Work closely with the Technical Services Manager, portfolio and business teams to understand business needs to design and help implement forward thinking business solutions. Participate in environment design sessions and enterprise Committees as appropriate. Responsible for continued deployment and monitoring of security controls to protect UCare systems and data. Work to identify and implement appropriate controls as needed to support a changing environment. Address security system needs in a proactive, timely and efficient manner. Recommend, assist, and lead system upgrades, including after-hours maintenance and support as needed. Review changes and enhancements to infrastructure systems and make recommendations related to security controls to protect UCare's environment. Monitor systems and alerts to maintain consistent system health and identify and address issues efficiently and effectively. Assist with business continuity and disaster recovery processes. Participate in on-call support as needed. Assist Service Desk in providing end user support as needed. Coordinate and assist in the maintenance and development of system documentation. Cross train other System Engineers and Analysts to support security operations. Mentor engineers and Service Desk staff to assist their technical and business skills. Collaborate with IT Leadership and Architecture on direction for UCare's security and infrastructure. Stay abreast of current technology trends related to information security. Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals, guidelines, policies and procedures. Collaborate with other members of the IT department to assist in resolving incidents. Other projects and duties as assigned. Responsibilities of a Security Architect Senior:
Serve as a technical expert and resource for IT, business partners, and end users to help create secure technical solutions and processes that protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UCare systems and information. Understand UCare business needs and be able to dive deeply into a wide range of technical domains. These domains may include: cloud security, network security, application security, endpoint security, email and web security) to mitigate risk for the organization. Create and maintain documentation of current state and create a roadmap for future state that includes what investments will be needed to align business strategy and goals. Serve as internal consultant on various IT projects to ensure projects are within defined security framework, policies, practices, and controls. Define, document, communicate and implement security requirements, policies and procedures. Maintain System LifeCycle for existing security tools and advise on future enhancements and replacement solutions. Collaborate with external vendors and managed services to ensure value is delivered based on defined an agreed upon goals. Collaborate with Service Desk and Application Support to mentor and provide documentation for operational support where applicable. Mentor System Engineers who are assisting with environment designs and implementations. Participate in committees and workgroups as appropriate. Design, build, implement and support enterprise-class security systems, which may include Enterprise Detection and Response, Log Management, Vulnerability Management, Account Management, Network Security, Application Security, Data Loss Prevention, Cloud Security. Collaborate with Information Security Officer to align organizational security strategy and infrastructure with overall business and technology strategy. Review and approve installation of firewall, VPN, routers, IDS scanning technologies and servers.
Education
Security Architect
Bachelors degree in Computer Science; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Security Architect Senior
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Security or a closely related field; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Must maintain one of the following certifications: CISSP, CASP, Security+.
Required Experience
Security Architect
Five years supporting/maintaining company relevant security and security monitoring systems in an enterprise environment. Three years of experience supporting Security Tools and/or Infrastructure. Five years' experience supporting and maintaining server hardware and software. Five years of experience in IT security. Hardware troubleshooting experience. Knowledge of applicable security and data privacy practices and laws.
Security Architect Senior
Eight years of experience designing, building, implementing, and managing security solutions in a highly regulated industry. Prior program management or project management experience. Experience working in both on-premise and cloud environments such as: IDS, IPS, WAF, EDR, DLP, Active Directory, Group Policy and vulnerability scanning technology. Experience securing workloads that run in the cloud, on-premises or hybrid environments.
Preferred Experience
Security Architect
Five years of experience building, maintaining and hardening enterprise infrastructure systems, including servers, routers, switches, backup and environmental systems. Three years of experience with asset, license, and patch management. Two years of experience collaboratively building, maintaining and validating business continuity strategies. Experience supporting Active DirectoryITIL experience.
Certified candidate in a security domain: e.g. CISSP, Security +, GIAC
Security Architect Senior
Experience with Cyber Security mitigation interventions such as: networks, firewalls, directory services, intrusion detection and prevention systems, vulnerability management, web filtering, end point protection and log management solutions.
