Position Overview:
The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for architecting, deploying, and managing secure and compliant cloud solutions on Azure and AWS platforms. The role focuses on integrating APIs, achieving ATO compliance, and ensuring system scalability. Work Location:
Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) HQ, Washington, DC (Hybrid, 2x onsite per week); All work performed in the U.S. Key Responsibilities:
Architect, deploy, and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructures in Azure and AWS environments. Integrate APIs and enable real-time system performance monitoring. Develop cost-effective strategies using Azure and AWS monitoring tools. Ensure full compliance with OMB, NIST, and FISMA requirements for ATO certification. Author critical documentation, including Architecture Designs, Data Models, and Data Dictionaries. Implement security vulnerability management measures, including encryption and advanced monitoring. Configure OKTA SSO. Lead data migration efforts while ensuring high availability through robust real-time solutions. Collaborate on iterative feature updates and provide comprehensive post-production support. Required Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Cloud Computing, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience with expertise in Azure and AWS platforms. Experience working with large volumes of data. Experienced in building cloud-based applications and leveraging cloud services. Proven track record of developing hybrid, scalable architectures. Proficiency in real-time analytics, data migration, and cloud monitoring. In-depth knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and federal security frameworks. U.S.-based, with the ability to pass a background check.
