Responsibilities
Candidate will be a member of the TMT Finance & Advisory team, which is part of SocGen’s global TMT franchise with locations in New York, London, Paris, and Singapore. The mission of the Banker is to establish long-term relationships with private equity sponsors, infrastructure funds and their portfolio companies, principally focused on the TMT and Digital Infrastructure space. The TMT group is responsible for direct origination, execution and structuring of syndicated loan transactions to support acquisitions financings, construction loans, leverage buy outs, acquisition financings, and refinancings, and other types of financings relevant to sponsors. The TMT group is also responsible for cross selling banking and investment banking products to its clients, including M&A, ECM, ABS, and other capital market solutions.
Job responsibilities include:
Develop and expand relationships with private equity sponsors and infra funds principally within the TMT sector.
Develop and maintain marketing material promoting SG CIB's capabilities to secure new financing mandates, in cooperation with other departments involved (including other business lines, syndications, HYB, etc.) and support the development and delivery of pitches to clients and prospects.
Maximize the cross-selling and ancillary revenue contribution from the portfolio companies and Sponsors assigned, including M&A, ECM, Capital Market take outs like HY Bonds and ABS/CMBS/USPP.
Cross sell IPO and ECM products to clients in line with SocGen/Bernstein strategy.
Originate with a focus on distributing products that fit SocGen’s newly announced debt fund with Brookfield.
Assist in all aspects of the transaction execution, notably due diligence, credit analysis, modeling and financial structuring, credit approval process, drafting of financing offers, implementation of documentation.
Keep abreast of the market in order to maintain structuring skills in line with market developments.
Develop new financing and M&A ideas for Sponsors and their portfolio companies.
Responsible for the full execution of a transaction, including developing commercial proposals and capital structuring, due diligence, preparation of credit papers, obtaining necessary credit approvals, negotiation of term sheets, commitment/support letters and credit documentation, the subsequent syndication phase, and closing and funding. Ensure all relevant risks are identified and addressed. Manage the VP’s, Associates and Analysts within a deal team to ensure that a high quality of output is produced within the deadlines established.
Maintain all the various workstreams with third party due diligence providers including Lender Presentations, Confidential Info Memos, Lender Technical Advisors, Rating Agencies, Appraisers, Insurance Consultants, Marker Study providers, etc.
Maintain a proper collaboration and coordination with other activities of the bank with a view towards offering and providing the best financing solutions and execution to our client base.
Monitor the credit risks inherent within the new business activity and the existing portfolio for which primary responsibility is given; proactively generate new business opportunities as appropriate.
Become a productive member of the group senior leadership team by contributing to the development of the necessary strategies and actions that address the evolving market and competitive challenges and opportunities in both the nearer and longer-terms, to include anticipation of potential business opportunities and preparation of pitches to clients.
Promote team cohesiveness and morale within a high-pressure, work-intensive, and deadline-sensitive work environment; be an advocate of the bank and a positive role model for our junior bankers; assist with the training and development of junior bankers.
Profile required
Department Description: Candidate will be a member of the TMT and Digital Infrastructure group within Global Banking and Advisory, which originates, structures, and executes syndicated loan transactions for corporates, middle-market companies and projects across a variety of industries to support leveraged buyouts, acquisition financings, refinancing’s, development, construction, and restructurings.
Requirements:
Excellent relationships with key Private Equity and Infra Fund Sponsors that are active in TMT and Digital Infrastructure.
Project Finance, Power, and Energy Transition experience is a big plus.
Very strong origination skills and track record.
Strong understanding and competency of all aspects of structured finance, project finance, leveraged finance and capital markets businesses, from origination to structuring to execution to distribution, and including the evolving regulatory framework and capital treatment and formation trends.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, and ability to coach and mentor a team of junior bankers.
Experience in M&A advisory (buy-side or sell-side) is a plus.
Solid communication skills; ability to get ideas across and present views in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
Strong marketing and negotiation skills.
Strong technical and risk analysis skills; keen ability to identify the key risk and credit factors and events.
Strong attention to detail.
