Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):

The Data Analyst will be part of the Student Operations Team (or Ops Team), which supports the administrative, data, marketing and technology needs of the office. Each member of the team will specialize in a specific area of operations and contribute to other efforts of the team as needed.

Students will: Complete in-depth training on St. Olaf career and vocational resources Apply data entry skills in a professional context Contribute ideas for making the Piper Center even more effective Get to know the professional staff of the Piper Center Duties and Responsibilities:

Support efforts to organize, analyze, and summarize data to inform Piper Center planning and reporting goals (using primarily Google Sheets/Excel) Use Google Sheets/Excel to analyze student engagement and survey data and create summary reports for the Piper Center staff and other audiences Use R and/or Tableau (data visualization software) to create visualizations and reports relating to career engagement, internships/research, and first destinations by major Work closely with the Sr. Associate Director of the Piper Center Work with Piper Center staff to understand staff expectations and event audiences Operations Team members are expected to work 6-8 hours per week.

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)

Advanced proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets Experience with data visualization techniques Past experience analyzing data in a professional setting (preferred) Ability to manage confidential information Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines Ability to work well independently and to collaborate effectively with staff Excellent attention to detail Strong oral and written communication skills Strong work ethic and reliability Desire to work in a professional office setting Positive attitude and interest in the Piper Center's programs and resources
