You will lead the engineering process, providing strategic and tactical design management support to the Design Management Team. This role requires you to guide the client's design process, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and implement world-class projects. This role will be embedded as an integral member of the Client’s team, undertaking Project Briefing and Compliance roles as requested on all projects across AMER. Although based in NYC, there may be a requirement to travel to specific project locations throughout AMER for key project milestones during the design, construction, testing/commissioning, and handover stages. This role requires the selected candidate to be onsite in New York City at the client's office a minimum of three days per week. What you’ll do Serve as the client's representative for MEP in construction projects, ensuring the client's MEP brief is met by coordinating with consultants, contractors, and architects. Guide the execution of the client's design process across all project phases, including feasibility, scheme design, detailed design, construction, and project handover. Collaborate with Operations teams to address operational failures, offering expert advice and reporting recommendations for resolution. Conduct feasibility studies and provide support to project managers, architects, and space planners. Collaborate with cost estimators to formulate MEP budgets and with Project Managers to develop construction programs. Create high-level MEP Scope of Work for internal moves, changes (IMAC), and small projects. Update standard documentation to assist the design management team in delivering client projects. Travel to project locations in the US and potentially Canada to provide on-site support. Advise on project briefs, setting clear goals and objectives related to building services installations. Monitor project designs and reviews to ensure adherence to Client standards. Communicate design management processes to Project Managers and team members. Review works on-site to ensure compliance and quality delivery. Carry out project completion reviews, sign-off, and acceptance on behalf of the Client. Compile information for monthly management reports for senior management's review. Conduct comprehensive auditing across the design management process. Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for specific plant or system installations. Review commissioning data against design parameters and arrange for corrective action when necessary. Other duties as assigned. What you’ll need Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future. BS Degree and 7-10 years of experience in MEP, FPS-focused field, including at least 5 years in design consultancy and/or design management with commercial buildings. Strong electrical or mechanical/electrical commissioning bias Engineering Designer/manager with commercial design experience. Proficiency in IoT (Smart) technologies. Proficient in engaging with clients and communicating complex concepts. Innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyond existing solutions. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Strong organizational skills with a curious and investigative approach. Strong knowledge of design guidelines, standards, and construction processes. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proactive and positive attitude with a calm and methodical approach to work. Ability to learn new tasks, systems, and skills quickly. Ability to travel to project locations as required.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the MEP Project & Engineering Design Manager position is $120,000 annually and the maximum salary is $180,000 annually. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
