Junior Graphic Designer

Grunley Construction Company, Inc. is looking for a junior designer to join our dynamic Marketing and business Development Department. The right candidate will have a creative portfolio, pay attention to detail, experience in motion graphics, and have a firm understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. The junior designer must have a desire to develop new skills in print, web, and multimedia design and be able to provide project, concept, and production support. The junior graphic designer will design, manage, and execute the development of graphics for web, social media, internal communications, presentations, and marketing material for a variety of projects. He/she/they will also assist and work with the Senior Graphic Designer on the production process for in-house projects, create graphics as requested, and assist in day-to-day graphic requests for print, email, and web. This position reports to the Senior Graphic Designer. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of professional graphic design experience (internships included), preferably in an in-house graphics department or a design studio. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in graphic design. SKILLS & ABILITIES: Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and InDesign) Demonstrated creativity and excellent technical skills in all aspects of graphic design including Concepts, typography, imagery, color, and layout Strength in information and data visualizations graphics Strength in creating motion graphics Passion for interpreting complex data into digestible graphics Working knowledge of data visualization programs (interactive maps, charts, and graphs) Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Outstanding organizational and project management skills, including the ability to multi-task, shift and manage priorities and resources, adhere to project schedules, and work in a proactive manner on tight deadlines. Strong communications skills and attention detail Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Ability to troubleshoot the unexpected independently Flexibility and willingness to meet the demands of the role through extended hours as necessary. Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail. Ability to interpret and present complicated concepts in a visually appealing and clear manner. Strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills, with the ability to clearly articulate visual design concepts to team members. Ability to work with a variety of individuals and build effective working relationships with others within and outside the firm. Willingness to learn
