Jr. Fund Accountant

A NYC-based hedge fund is seeking an Assistant Controller / Sr. Fund Accountant.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and review of NAV calculations for Master Fund and separately managed accounts
• Work on year-end audit process in collaboration with auditors and the administrator
• Review Fund tax returns and K-1s
• Calculate management and incentive fees
• Manage relationships with Fund Administrator and Auditors
• Review daily cash and position reconciliations
• Daily interaction with prime brokers to resolve account differences
• Assist with compliance related matters
• Work closely with the accounting team on projects that include system and reporting implementation
• Provide guidance and be a mentor to junior team members
• Assist team with data analytics and various internal/external reporting tasks
• Work on with ad hoc projects

• 4 year college degree
• 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Experience with Hedge Fund accounting is required
• Must be able to handle multiple accounts and high volume trading activity
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong proficiency with Excel

• Accounting major preferred
• Ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented and can work independently
• Knowledge of accounting systems, and trade-order management systems would be preferable
