Reports to the Manager of Admissions

Total Base Pay Range: 40,000.00 - 60,000.00 USD Annual

Purpose:

The Outreach & Admissions Counselor plays a vital role in identifying, recruiting, and advising prospective students to help them successfully enroll in Ensign College. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, personal growth, and fostering a faith-centered environment. This position supports the college's purpose to foster student success and inclusivity by engaging diverse populations, including traditional, underrepresented, and nontraditional/adult students. Through personalized outreach and advising, you will inspire prospective students to see Ensign College as the place where they can develop themselves personally, professionally, and spiritually. In addition to fulfilling this purpose, each employee continuously strives to bring about the mission of Ensign College, which is to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.

Requirements for Employment Eligibility:
  • Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • Worthiness to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • Receive clearance from the Church Educational System Ecclesiastical Clearance Office.
  • Commitment to bring about the purposes of Ensign College.
  • Resides in Utah.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Two years of experience in recruiting, admissions, sales or marketing and a relevant bachelor's degree.

• Ability to embrace change and make meaningful and innovative contributions to the quality of the student life cycle.

• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills.

• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students.

• Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools (e.g., Element451, Salesforce.)

• Ability to quickly acquire and maintain a working knowledge of Ensign College policies, international student laws and other applicable government regulations.

• Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to regularly travel long distances, including overnight stays.

• Ability to work extended hours during critical admissions seasons.

• Flexibility to travel and work evenings or weekends as needed for recruitment events.

• Bi-lingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.

Essential Job Functions:

Outreach & Recruiting (60%)

• Assists the Manager of Admissions in developing and conducting efforts to recruit students to Ensign College.

• Focus on recruiting a diverse range of students, including traditional high school students, first-generation college students, underrepresented populations, and nontraditional/adult learners.

• Build relationships with high school counselors, teachers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote Ensign college.

• Represent Ensign College at recruitment events such as high school visits, college fairs, virtual events, Church Educational System (CES) events, Church and community gatherings.

• Leverage CRM data and analytics to track recruitment efforts and adjust strategies to achieve enrollment goals.

• Assists with on-campus recruiting efforts through the management of engaging campus tours and events.

• Meet with prospective students both on campus and virtually to provide timely and accurate admissions counseling.

• Meet specific enrollment and outreach goals, including the number of student contacts, campus visits, and event participation.

Admissions (30%)

• Review and evaluate admission applications to ensure eligibility and readiness for enrollment.

• Provide accurate and timely information about the admissions process to domestic and international prospective students.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the admissions system and assist applicants in completing their applications.

• Serve as a member of the admissions committee and contribute to admission decisions.

• Communicate admissions decisions, offer alternative pathways for those not immediately admitted, and provide support throughout the application process.

Administrative Support (10%)

• Assist in coordinating and scheduling campus tours and visits.

• Maintain the events calendar, including school visits, recruitment events, and campus activities.

• Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support admissions and recruitment functions.

Skills & Abilities:

• Proficient in communicating with various stakeholder groups. Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
