Description
Job Title:Staff Accountant Department:Admin
Reports to:Accounting Supervisor Effective Date:December 2024
Schedule:35 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Job Summary:
Handles various accounting functions as part of the YWCA Business Office team. Responsible for the reconciliation of general ledger accounts, and preparation of third-party contract billing.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

Daily processing of cash receipts to general ledger.

Record monthly membership income and EFT payments from Twin Oaks billing summary reports.

Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.
-
Monthly preparation of third-party contract billing and preparation of invoices as needed for other services. Follow-up to ensure timely receipt of payments.

Monthly reconciliation of AR, Clearing Accounts, AR Other, Accrued Misc. Expense Accounts. Quarterly reconciliation of all other balance sheet accounts.

Assist CFO with the annual independent audit and prepare audit schedules requested by the auditors in a timely fashion.

Cross-train and complete the following functions in the absence of the AP clerk: front desk daily cash deposit, petty cash, producing manual checks, inputting A/P invoices for payment, investigating AP inquiries.

Cross-train on Bi-weekly payroll in absence of the administration

Update the following tracking sheets: investment sheet, Foundation Grant spreadsheet, ASOST Grant

Import payroll entries into Accufund
-
Responsible for running reports required by supervisors and/or auditors including time detail history and time exception reports.

Assist with budget preparation.

Process weekly Tuition Express for child care billing and communicate with parents as necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:

Experience with Accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field with significant course work in Accounting

3 – 5 years related experience
Physical Requirements:
-
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
