Grant Accountant
The grant account supports the Fiscal Services with professional accounting functions involving project budget development, review and analysis of transactions, and reconciliation of accounts. Grant account will partner with the owner of the grant and help manage the pre- and post-award accounting, reporting, and monitor compliance against required deliverable.

The grant account supports the Fiscal Services with professional accounting functions involving project budget development, review and analysis of transactions, and reconciliation of accounts. Grant account will partner with the owner of the grant and help manage the pre- and post-award accounting, reporting, and monitor compliance against required deliverable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support business partner to develop, prepare, and finalize budget proposals
- Familiar with grant governance such as 2 CFR and Illinois Administrative Code
- Ensure grants are set-up properly and both direct and in-direct cost are properly allocated and documented
- Review of expenditures and ensure spending is following the agreement
- Responsible for grant closeout and submission of financial reports and submission of audit related reports required by the agencies
- Serve as the administrator and resource on the various web site such as GATA, IDHS CSA Tracking, and other as required
- Serve as a resource to the business partner related to grant research
- General accounting including preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations related to grants
- Assist with documentation of internal Audit & Controls
- Assist with year-end audit preparations and ensure HPH is prepared for single audits
- Assist with month-end close and other duties related to month-end close
- Assist with month end reporting package
- Reconciliations of assigned accounts
- Act as a backup for duties performed by other Sr. accountants within the department
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- HFMA or AAHAM certification required within one (1) year of hire
- Grant accounting experience, knowledge of Provider Relief Payments and various aspects of private and federal grant
