Description SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician IV to support the US Navy in Crane, IN. JOB DESCRIPTION: This position requires the candidate to be responsible for performing activities involving the testing, trouble-shooting and training end users. Candidates must have a high mechanical and electrical aptitude and be able to train end-users on the ROSAM weapons platform. Candidate will provide training and mechanical/maintenance support of the ROSAM weapons platform. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Engineering Technician IV performs task assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy (or conformity with instructions). This technician performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as: Ability to trouble shoot and follow Standard Operating Procedures and Test Manuals. Following specific layouts, procedures, drawings, or scientific diagrams. Basic hand tool knowledge REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate's Degree in related discipline and two (2) years or more of related experience; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of maintenance, test and troubleshooting, and training experience. Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, flow charts and use logical troubleshooting techniques. Must have good communication skills, interface well with others. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form. High attention to detail and quality. Able to plan and execute daily and weekly scheduled tasks. Able to keep work area clean and organized. Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills. Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent. Possess the motivation and ability to research directives, regulations, and policies to determine solutions to problems, issues, and concerns. Must have a commitment to customer service and be proactive in implementing policy as well as identifying and solving problems. No clearance required to start however must have the ability to obtain an interim clearance within 60 days of hire. Full secret clearance will be final level required to obtained. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to pick up and carry 25 lbs. Ability to obtain forklift license. Ability to pass a physical and obtain/maintain Explosive Certification. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
