Overview
ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (F3900 2024-):
Bowhead is seeking to hire a Engineering Technician at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. The engineering technician performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for the planning, conducting and completion of projects of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more
diverse projects.The technician has some familiarity with power systems testing/test equipment and/or PCB fabrication and testing.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
- Constructing and packaging devices according to specific layouts and diagrams provided.
- Conducting various tests on machines and parts as well as measuring, preparing, operating and recording test data.
- Creating presentations of data from field notes, manuals, lab reports and ensuring errors are identified and feasible recommendations are presented.
- Assisting in design modification after failures and modifications are identified and addressed.
- Provide technician level support for the following Printed Circuit Board (PCB) fabrication and assembly related efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in electronics background preferred. Five years of relevant experience in electronics repair and fabrication can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Five plus (5+) years of DoD experience preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
