Position Summary: The Staff Accountant performs complex accounting functions for the organization, operating independently with minimal oversight. This includes internal and external collaboration.

Working Conditions:
General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Physical Requirements:
General office-based demands including remaining in the seated position with occasional standing and walking.
Compensation: Starting at $55,000/Annually

Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee and analyze grant documents to determine type of revenue recognition
- Manage daily deposits
- Generate and distribute invoices (commercial tenants, intracompany transactions, etc)
- Manage all incoming grant revenue and other receivables
- Oversee and review input of donation transactions
- Audit and reconcile accounts (grants, donations balances, commercial tenant receivables, intracompany reimbursements, matched savings, and other programs, etc)
- Research discrepancies and make adjusting general ledger entries as needed
- Produce GL and payroll reports, audit receipts, reclass expenses for Grants team
- Review, reconcile, and post payroll entries in addition to monthly and annual accruals
- Reconcile benefits deductions and communicate discrepancies to HR
- Review and ensure correct cost coding for employee hires / changes
- Other accounting tasks as needed
- 4-year accounting degree or equivalent work experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) required
- Prior experience with Netsuite, Raiser's Edge, ADP preferred
- Working knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting concepts
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Solves problems thoroughly and independently
- Able to analyze, calculate, consolidate, reconcile, interpret accounting data, and identify errors
- Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Able to work well independently and with others
- Takes initiative
