Summary:
Provides credit analysis consistent with published content expectations including but not limited to the following: borrowing purpose; borrowing structure; management ability; economic/market conditions; industry analysis/trends; financial condition; management projections; cash flow (management, base case and downside scenarios); collateral; guarantor/recourse; strengths and weaknesses/mitigants; and risk rating rationale.
Responsibilities:
• Independently analyze and underwrite the credit worthiness of high value Commercial Real Estate (CRE), Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Borrowers SBA and other specialty lending requests. Ensure credit analysis is consistent with Bank's credit policy guidelines including Borrowing Purpose, Credit Structure, Financial Condition / Repayment Capacity, Collateral Analysis, Management Ability, Market Conditions, and Industry Trends.
• Assist in vetting new requests, which may include preflight memorandums or other reporting as directed in addition to providing full analysis for new loan transactions.
• Collaborate with and serve as an underwriting resource to skilled bankers. You will interact with lenders, branch and market presidents, and credit officers as individual loan requests are vetted, structured, and underwritten.
• Attends prospect/client meetings, banker meetings and fully engages in on-going credit training.
• Actively mentor new hires and junior credit analysts. You may direct the flow of credit assignments and aide in the quality control review process.
Qualifications:
Education and Minimum Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years commercial bank credit underwriting/portfolio management experience
Licenses and Certifications
• Formal Bank credit training through ABA, Center for Financial Training, Omega Training and/or similar programs required
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
• Thorough knowledge of commercial loan underwriting including strong technical skills, significant accounting, and finance knowledge, understanding of Bank policies and procedures, and general knowledge of local laws, regulations, and compliance practices
• Demonstrated capacity to handle complex analysis with minimal oversight
• Ability to build personal credibility with credit approval authorities
• Must be proficient in commercial CRE and C&I underwriting and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to critically think, formulate and support credit decisions, and logically defend positions
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate on behalf of the Bank and the borrower while appropriately balancing risk and shareholder value
• Ability to work and lead in a team environment while demonstrating the capacity to handle complex analysis with minimal oversight
• Proven ability to communicate verbally and in-writing with internal/external constituents
• Ability and willingness to investigate, resolve and recommend process improvement opportunities
• Knowledge and understanding of bank rules and regulations, BSA, KYC, CRA, compliance
• Knowledge of overall bank products and services
• Advanced knowledge of loan documentation on complex credits

In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $81,097.80 - $129,546.62, actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience and education.
