JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Finance Accounting Analyst is responsible for performing accounting related tasks to support achievement of company's objectives. The Finance Analyst is also expected to complete weekly customer billing and extract to the GL and customer portals. The Analyst will also participate in the period closing process, and maintain appropriate accounting procedures, records, and interfaces. Also performs other ad-hoc related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Deliver accurate and detailed analysis of customer profitability.
  • Gather financial and operational data from multiple sources. Advise on data gaps and ensure sources are appropriate for intended use.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance to GAAP, Sarbanes/Oxley (SOX) controls, and other internal policies and best practices - to ensure a high level of consistency in the data as well as ensuring that McLane is in compliance with all defined standards.
  • Prepare customer billing in accordance with customer contracts. Work with Operations team to ensure customer rates are accurate and customer portals are updated timely.
  • Reconcile AR activity extracted from TMS to Oracle to ensure that all transactions posted correctly.
  • Identify irregularities in accounting or pricing data, raise the concern to the Finance team, and coordinate with other functional areas for resolution.
  • Develop tools that help with evaluation of company performance.
  • Understand and manage multiple priorities to successfully meet tight deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Have 2 years' experience, preferably in logistics or foodservice industries.
  • Experience working with corporate finance and/or profitability analysis.
  • Systems experience with JD Edwards, AS400, Oracle, Microsoft Excel (intermediate user) is a plus.
  • Experience gathering information from multiple sources such as Essbase, Oracle, and SQL server databases.
  • Focused ability to review and interpret large amounts of data, transactions, and business practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule and self-manage priorities to succeed under pressure.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Primarily an office environment (hybrid schedule).
