Consumers Credit Union (CCU) is adding a Loan Officer to the Commercial Lending team! This is a great opportunity for an experienced Commercial Lender who wants to work for a fast-growing, certified Great Place to Work financial institution!
As a Commercial Loan Officer, you will identify midsize commercial loan prospects within our target market area of Chicago to Milwaukee and west to Rockford. You'll originate and maintain a portfolio of profitable, high-quality loan and deposit relationships in commercial real estate mixed with some C&I lending.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Solicit and develop a variety of commercial loan business from application, analysis, presentation to close. You'll work to obtain information regarding the financial condition of the applicant to evaluate and recommend suitable options.
- Achieve sales objectives while concurrently assessing the risk of the loan to minimize loss.
- Develop communications and presentation materials to inform clients about portfolio changes, and other investment related topics as well as to inform management of loan information.
- Monitor existing loan portfolio to maintain asset base. You'll monitor and ensure risk ratings of the credits in your portfolio are appropriate, and management is properly informed of any changes to the condition of the loans.
- Monitor and manage the collection of past due loans and actively work with members whose financial condition is performing negatively including any legal and/or litigation procedures.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline through various activities such as representing CCU at community events with the intention of soliciting new business relationships.
- Assist members with any loan-related questions or concerns.
- Advise members on other CCU products that align with their business needs while also strengthening the relationship between the credit union and the member.
Top candidates will possess these qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial lending and credit analysis experience with a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related
- Existing and successful commercial lending Book of Business
- Ability to generate $6-8 million in new loan growth by using your drive to achieve goals and your "go getter" attitude
- Success in developing business and generating leads through quality referrals from clients, realtors, loan brokers, CPA's and other business contacts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including ability to write detailed loan presentations. Highly effective communicating with credit analysts and clients
- Negotiating skills and experience exploring alternatives through collaboration. Ability to reach agreeable outcomes for borrowers and the credit union.
- Focus on teamwork and putting organizational goals ahead of individual goals
Compensation & Benefits
Budgeted amount for starting salary: $140,000 annually + incentives
