The Role:

The Project Accountant will display a good working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and job cost systems. Be able to answer questions from the Project Managers, Project Engineers, or anyone regarding status of an accounts payable or receivable invoice. Working knowledge of all the information the job cost system can give the project managers and what reports are available to them. A Project Accountant will be able to manage time effectively to get the work completed on schedule, on time, and have the ability to prioritize and organize workload. Must be able to coordinate, contact, and work with subcontractors and suppliers to meet invoicing deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Enter and maintain job budgets as required by project mangers
• Enter owner contracts in accounting system and maintain change orders
• Set-up subcontracts in accounting system and maintain change orders
• Print job reports for projects managers as necessary
• Assist Project Managers and superintendent with other financial matters, such as setting-up accounts with suppliers, etc.
• Assist in job audits
• Contract and subcontract reviews with Finance Manager
• Monitor subcontracts in accounting system and Textura
• Ensure all subcontractor issued contracts are executed and filed
• Make sure sub billings do not exceed contract and/or make sure PM writes pending change orders
• Request invoices from subs and vendors when necessary
• Assist vendors and subcontractors when inquiring on invoice/payment status
• Prepare invoices according to the owner's contract and enter as much information as possible for the PM
• Prepare and remit invoices (send all information as required by owner such as lien waivers, accompanying schedules, copies of invoices, etc.)
• Enter invoices into accounting system and any 3rd party software
• Make sure all systems remain in sync - PMWeb, ComputerEase, DataServ and Textura
• Any other projects or related duties that arise over the normal course of business
• Collection calls to customers on delinquent accounts

Qualifications:

• Associates and working towards a BS/BA in Accounting
• 2-3 years accounting experience with a General Contractor/Subcontract
• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office software
• Need good communication and organizational skills
• ComputerEase experience a plus
