Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Forecasting:
- Develop, manage, and enhance budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes specific to defense and federal contracts.
- Partner with program managers and cross-functional teams to align financial projections with contract deliverables and strategic objectives.
- Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis for government contracts, including direct and indirect cost allocations, contract profitability, and compliance adherence.
- Prepare and present clear, concise reports tailored to government stakeholders, auditors, and executive leadership.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for government programs, providing variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Strategic Support:
- Collaborate with program and contract managers to optimize cost structures and ensure alignment with FAR/CAS requirements.
- Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to support proposals, contract negotiations, and strategic defense initiatives.
- Compliance & Audit Support:
- Ensure financial processes align with federal acquisition regulations, cost accounting standards, and other compliance requirements.
- Serve as a liaison during audits or financial reviews by government agencies, such as the DCAA.
- Process Improvement:
- Enhance FP&A tools and systems to streamline defense-related reporting and compliance tracking.
- Implement best practices for financial analysis in the defense and federal contracting environment.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and guide junior analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Lead efforts to enhance FP&A capabilities tailored to government and defense operations.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related roles, with a focus on defense business or federal contracting.
- Deep knowledge of FAR, CAS, and government compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting tools, and advanced Excel.
- Experience with financial software (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Hyperion, SAP) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
