Job Summary
Alexandra's Restaurant at Turf Valley Resort is seeking an innovative and highly skilled
Executive Chef
to lead our culinary operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences, strong leadership abilities, and expertise in managing kitchen operations for a casual-upscale dining establishment. This position involves overseeing all aspects of menu development, kitchen staff management, cost control, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Culinary Leadership
Design and execute seasonal menus that reflect creativity, local sourcing, and customer preferences. Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation consistently meet or exceed expectations. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate them into menu offerings. Team Management
Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment. Supervise and schedule kitchen personnel to ensure efficient operations. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement professional development plans. Operations and Cost Control
Oversee inventory management, including purchasing and supplier relationships. Develop and maintain budgets, controlling food and labor costs. Implement and uphold food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with local and state regulations. Ensure the kitchen is organized, clean, and operating efficiently at all times.
Event and Banquet Support
Collaborate with the Banquet and Catering teams to deliver exceptional food for events hosted within the restaurant. Create customized menus for receptions, corporate events, and special occasions, ensuring flawless execution.
Room Service and Amenities
Oversee preparation of room service food and amenities as part of Alexandra's culinary output. Coordinate with other departments to support culinary aspects of guest amenities, including welcome packages, VIP treatments, and specialty in-room offerings.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a senior culinary role, preferably in a casual-upscale or fine dining setting. Strong knowledge of menu planning, food costing, and inventory management. Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure. Proficiency with kitchen technology and tools, including POS and inventory systems.
Preferred Skills
Experience working with locally sourced ingredients and sustainable practices. Expertise in diverse cuisines and techniques to cater to a broad clientele. A track record of building and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Why Join Us?
