Job Description

The Document Control Engineer supports the LNG Engineering and Technical Services group by supervising the receipt, organizing, filing, and distribution of documentation, and overall administration of the document control process. The Document Control Engineer will maintain the Owner's Document Management System (DMS), establish and develop folder architecture, reviewing other's work for proper filing and tracking the distribution of received information to ensure timely responses. When supporting assigned projects, the Document Control Engineer will work with the Project Manager to ensure timely responses, notifying the Project Manager when items are beyond their required response date. The Document Control Engineer will also work with the Plant Operations group establishing the future repository for all project information post project turnover.

The Document Control Engineer will lead the overall administration of the document control process, directing the Document Controller on daily work activities to ensure overall program efficiency. The position is multi-faceted with responsibilities that will vary dependent on the LNG group's needs. The individual is expected to develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external groups; assuring information is efficiently and accurately shared. The Document Control Engineer reports directly to the Lead Engineer - Documentation, Training, & Project Controls.

Responsibilities Manages the company's document control software database (DocuWare) to ensure structure and standardization of the document locations, searchability and revision control are consistent. Develops, establishes, and maintains document management databases, indexing records for ease of access and ensuring accuracy of the documents descriptions and other attributes. Collaborate with the Engineering group and Operations group to develop an asset-based repository. Follows up with internal employees to ensure documents are turned over at the end of projects. Reviews documents and enters documents in DMS with appropriate technical information including appropriate asset category, applicable indexing information, tags, etc. Collaborates with internal DocuWare IT support to troubleshoot issues and implement document management system improvements. Administers training of other employees in the document control program and use of the document control software database. Audits the LNG department to ensure compliance with the document control procedures and to ensure that appropriate company standards are followed, including records retention. Performs quality audits of issued drawings to identify errors to drawing number, title, revision letter, etc. For assigned projects, responsible for the complete management of project documents, including initial receipt of project documents, managing revisions, archiving old documents, logging applicable changes, distributing and ensuring awareness of the most current documents. Participates in project meetings staying informed of project status and reporting on the status of RFIs, submittals, and other project documents. Takes ownership in the development and implementation of effective document control practices. Ensures that documents are managed in accordance with appropriate company standards. Records information to ensure project is appropriately documented for future regulatory review. Responsible for documenting important decisions and maintaining meeting minutes. Compiles and documents lessons learned for their use in future projects. Maintains folders on network drives and create new files as requested. Processes and maintains Requests for Information (RFIs) and their timely follow-up. Supervises internal employees to ensure their timely follow-up. Compiles redline comments and submits them to external groups per project procedures. Digitizes plant paper documents and records and organizes in DMS as assigned. Assists in the continued review of the project schedule to identify discrepancies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Experience working as part of an engineering, maintenance, or construction project team. Skilled with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), MS Project, Adobe PDF, AutoCAD. AutoCAD design or drafting experience a plus but is not required. Proficiency with electronic document management programs and applications. Experience with DocuWare strongly desired. Very strong written and communication skills. Very strong organization practices. Must be independently motivated and able to work without detailed direction. Must deal with short time frames and handle multiple competing priorities. Excellent communication skills, able to interface with internal and external stakeholders. Local candidates only, travel to local offices and facilities required. Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree in engineering, information technology, or other related discipline, plus five (5) years work experience; OR Associate's Degree in engineering, information technology, or other related discipline, plus seven (7) years work experience; OR Minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or other related discipline.
