Today, through our state-of-the-art Level One Trauma Center, cutting-edge specialty care units, and dedicated caregivers, the system is working at the forefront of medicine to address the overall needs of our patients and eliminate healthcare disparities.All Critical Care units offer enhanced technology to assist with nursing care, including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and continuous telemetry monitoring.Join our Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, 5 West!Primary Patient Population:TraumaComplex SurgicalPrimary skills utilized/learned:Assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating & drinkingAnswering call lights & taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed).Performing/transmitting basic ECG and phlebotomy.Personnel PCNA will work with:Registered Nurses, Nurse Interns, ProvidersNumber of beds on unit:24 bedsAwards or Recognitions the unit has received:Gold Beacon Award, Silver Beacon AwardMetroHealth offers industry-leading benefits, including tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment, professional certification incentives, and medical/dental insurance. As a public employer, employees participate in the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS).Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills.Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.Preferred Qualifications:Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (NOTE: Maintaining ODH Registry status as an STNA is optional after employment in this position).1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
