Job Summary:
Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment, producing cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs and tissue that are used to diagnose medical conditions. Leads staff activities, utilizing both professional and personal discretion as well as independent judgment. Acts as an expert clinician who demonstrates a high level of knowledge/expertise, and is a leader/resource to the healthcare team.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience: Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred Five years' technical experience: Required Two years' leadership experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA Advanced certification in the modality of CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required Fluoroscopy license: Preferred in CA and OR Venipuncture certification: Preferred in CA and OR ARRT-Radiography (ARRT-R) or ARRT-Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT): Required Essential Functions:
Prepares patients for the CT diagnostic procedure by explaining the process and positioning the patient to correctly capture the images requested by a physician. Plans the daily patient workload to accommodate scheduled patients, including in-house and emergency patients. Guides a team, assigns resources, monitors work, develops and administers schedules, and oversees achievement of performance requirements. Assists manager in decisions involving employee hiring, employee evaluation, promotion and termination. Provides adequate staffing to accommodate patient workload, while covering vacations and sick days. Serves as technical leader on daily tasks and cases. Models/mentors and trains staff on technical skills. Recommends and coordinates scheduling of work assignments, daily priorities and directing the work of staff. Provide input into hiring and promotion decisions for staff. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
