summary Client in Durham location looking for experienced candidate 1st shift 6am to 2:30pm Job description: This position is for experienced individuals responsible for the assembly and fabrication of switchgear. This position includes building the structure, wiring the back pan and doors, and assembling the bus and installation of the breakers. The focus of this position is the assembly of switchgear from the component level to completed product. This position includes the assembly of low voltage, medium voltage and controls panels. Wiring and Switchgear Tech 2 role builds on the basic knowledge from the Tech 1 position and requires that the technician is able to wire 1558, Battery Storage components and DC boards. It also requires that the technician is able to read red lined drawings and communicate effectively regarding changes required to engineering drawings using the red line process. Drill and tap holes, crimps, screws, bolts, rivets, mount control units, and to provide openings for elements, wiring, and instruments using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment. Electrical wire and cable routing skills and the understanding of standard wiring workmanship as it pertains to quality Determine if own work is complete and correct as specified by instructions, drawings and specifications. Work independently and cooperatively. Coordinate daily tasks with others to align priorities for smooth assembly operations Ability to read/execute electrical schematics and/or drawings, and engineering sketches Must have troubleshooting skills Mark and tag components, wiring, and connections #rmfgindeed required-skills: Minimum Qualifications 2 years of switchgear manufacturing experience Attention to detail Ability to read and understand an electrical drawing and schematics Proficient with hand tools Able to read a tape measure and other measuring devices Successfully complete the on boarding training program Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be able to measure to 1/16th of an inch Must understand torque values and how they correspond to components. required-experience: 2 years
