ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Serves as a member of the development team and plays a central role in advancing PP Mar Monte's principal and major gifts program to successfully identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward principal and major gift prospects ($10,000+) and donors in Nevada, with a focus on deepening relationships with individuals, families, and family foundations capable of making significant gifts. All fundraising efforts should fit within overall PPMM
    development strategies.
  • Oversee a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors in Nevada, ensuring timely and thoughtful engagement, communication, and stewardship strategies.
    •Conducts in-person donor and prospect meetings throughout Nevada to strengthen relationships,
    understand donor motivations, and share impactful updates on PPMM's mission and programs.
  • Collaborates with internal contacts and teams to consult on PPMM needs, formulate strategies and "cases" to promote prospect engagement with PPMM, and identify potential donors.
  • Prepares senior leadership, including the CEO, for donor meetings and leverages senior leadership to steward key donors as needed.
  • Assists with the strategy for and creation of persuasive written communications appropriate to a donor's interests, with a focus on Nevada from various PPMM leaders.
  • Develops and meets measurable goals for PPMM's major gift program in alignment with the goals of the development department and the best practices of Moves Management.
  • Plans and implements donor activities, meetings, and events in Nevada, with support from the Events Specialist, Director of Leadership Giving, and Chief Development Officer, that may help to engage major donors in Nevada, including private receptions, fundraisers, and community gatherings.
  • Represents PPMM with influential public audiences in the Nevada region and beyond as a senior fundraiser.
  • Tracks interactions and progress with each donor in PPMM's database, ensuring accurate records and timely follow-up.
  • Assures departmental adherence to affiliate policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
In this role, you will be based in Las Vegas and responsible for stewarding a portfolio of current and prospective major donors located in and around the entire state of Nevada and deepening their engagement with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte. In this role, you will need the ability to perform the duties described above. A typical means of acquiring those abilities would be:
  • You have exhibited success in Las Vegas-area fundraising with at least five to seven years of progressively increasing fundraising experience and have at least three to five years of experience in major donor fundraising, including closing between five and six-figure+ gifts.
  • You are sophisticated and comfortable engaging with C-Suite executives, donors, and local philanthropists.
  • You have experience giving 'concierge' service to donors and prospects, engaging with them as an equal partner in their philanthropic journey.
  • You have the soft skills and analytical skills to glean donors' philanthropic motivations.
  • You are comfortable using wealth screening software, database tools, and other technologies for data driven decision-making when qualifying prospects.
  • You are comfortable using Salesforce or other donor management software (CRM) to track progress, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • You enjoy writing and editing major gift solicitation proposals, letters, stewardship reports, and other fundraising communications in a donor-centric manner.
  • You think out of the box to find creative ways to prospect, cultivate, solicit and steward Individual donors.
  • You practice ethical fundraising, are deeply committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the fundraising profession, and manage donor relationships with discretion and diplomacy.
REQUIREMENTS
  • BA/BS degree.
  • Based in Las Vegas, Nevada and willing to travel extensively across the state for in-person donor meetings and events, and occasionally to the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Both the gravitas and grace to successfully interact with sophisticated donors, C-suite executives, and leaders in the philanthropy sector.
  • You are proactive, a self-starter, and donor-centric.
  • You are an exceptional team player and excel at creating innovative solutions.
  • Knowledge of professional practices and theories of fundraising.
  • Ability to prepare budgets, plans, and reports.
  • Ability to work effectively as both a leader and team member
