  • You set expectations with clients, drive strategy with the team, and ensure client goals are metthinking of interdisciplinary campaigns (marketing, media, social, influencers, content) and beyond whats expected
  • You have deep industry expertise in B2B technology marketing, as well as knowledge of 1-2 of our other core practice areas such as Federal IT, Healthcare technology, Cybersecurity and AI and regularly apply that to messaging, campaign strategy, client consulting, and internal team development.
  • You coordinate with and manage outside vendors - contractors, developers, video production teams, data partners, and more
  • Youre a strong leader in the agency, helping drive the professional growth and development of employees
  • You proactively identify and act on ways to celebrate and mentor employees across the agency (not just your direct reports)
  • You manage one key agency operational program with little oversight
  • You have deep domain expertise and play a leading role in the agencys new business efforts
  • As a member of the senior leadership team, you embody our agency leadership principles and are a proactive and positive driver of the agencys culture, image, and brand

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management & Client Relations

  • Youre able to independently manage and/or oversee multiple accounts, and provide strategic insight where needed for accounts and team members
  • Youre able to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, understanding the clients business objectives, and helping set and manage expectations and budgets
  • You drive and manage all aspects of project management including: scope, timelines, budget, and available resources. You support PM activities with reporting, tracking and measurement.
  • You take the lead and/or oversee and review the development of all strategic campaign recommendations across multiple clients that demonstrate proficient knowledge of market dynamics, modern marketing best practices, message development, marketing distribution channels and promotional vehicles, and campaign measurement, then adeptly manage the execution of these campaigns, working with internal client resources, agency resources, and external media and marketing partners.
  • You create, manage, and/or oversee marketing programs and campaigns on behalf of clients, ranging from content, digital, advertising/paid, social, web, and more, ensuring they align with the clients broader demand generation/sales goals
  • You create company, product, industry, and campaign-level messaging and positioning, as well as first drafts of client documents, plans, or strategic slide decks
  • You have an in-depth understanding of marketing methodologies, including online content strategy and development, omnichannel and social media production and management, email, database and content management, and analytics
  • You encourage and guide team members in establishing a relationship with the client
  • You ensure client objectives and deadlines are met, while identifying opportunities for team members to grow
  • Youre able to anticipate change, think beyond what is expected, hear the things not being said, and deliver fresh ways to tackle challenges and create opportunities for the client
  • You provide ongoing recommendations on strategy, act as a trusted resource for industry insights, and manage challenges that arise
  • You continuously bring new creative ideas to the table, and push teams to integrate other services (influencer/talent partnerships, events, content, creative services, etc.) into accounts where it will advance a clients goals
  • You actively participate and, when relevant, drive new client kick-off meetings
  • You understand the landscape around clients respective industries, and share new perspectives on effective marketing strategies not yet explored

People Development

  • You work with the broader senior team to determine staffing needs, play a strong role in the recruiting process, ensure the success of hires, and help provide a smooth and successful onboarding experience
  • You help drive the professional growth and development of employees across the agency, including identifying, motivating, retaining, and growing strong talent

Measurement

  • You can communicate measurement strategies to our clients clearly and ensure marketing programs map back to client goals, OKRs and KPIs
  • Youre able to create measurement strategies with sound methodologies
  • You work with the team to ensure they receive proper education about new measurements trends and methodologies

Business Development

  • You treat Merritt Group as a client, identifying new opportunities and areas of growth, and engage, amplify, and contribute to our brand
  • You deliver new business leads to the agency through your own network and efforts and evaluate new business leads with the leadership team
  • You develop proposals, manage internal research/initiatives, and play a lead role in pitches to prospective clients
  • You participate in one to two networking events per quarter and secure at least four new business introductory opportunities per year from your outreach/networking

Agency Operations

  • You manage one key operational program, working closely with the partner/senior team
  • You ensure the profitability of all accounts under your direction, and propose ways for the agency to curb costs and run more efficiently
  • Youre active in flagging business inefficiencies, addressing challenges and providing recommendations to improve upon existing operations
