Drywall Finishing and Repair

PatchMaster, Fort Worth, TX, United States

Drywall Finisher for Independent Repair Jobs

Are you an experienced drywall finisher? Is your finish coat so smooth you don't even need to sand? Have you perfected the art of matching textures so well you embarrass your co-workers? If you answered "Yes!" to any of these questions, we want to talk to you!

Who we are

PatchMaster is a growing national company and is looking for motivated individuals to join our team of drywall repair specialists. We focus on the repair work that finishing crews don't have the time for or simply don't want to. Small holes, water and flood damage, settling cracks, peeling texture, mismatched repairs by others, and failed home-owner DIY attempts-we'll fix all of these. Because we do work no one else wants to do, we're able to command the market in the way that drywall hanging and finishing companies can't. We're not competing for new construction or remodels. Just the smaller projects homeowners can't find anyone else to do.

Who you are

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, articulate, outgoing, personable and presentable, and can follow a specific process to perform quality drywall repairs. We are looking for drywall finishers, painters, handymen, and other trade professionals who already know how to patch holes in drywall and have the skill to finish the repair well enough that the average person wouldn't know there was a hole there in the first place. We're looking for people who take pride in their work and aren't afraid to show off a little in the process. And we love to work with people who don't mind explaining their work and the process to the customer.

Role and Responsibilities

Our technicians not only have drywall install and finishing experience, but are also proficient in general home repair. As part of our repair work, we often reinstall baseboards and trim, small amounts of insulation, and paint areas up to a small room. If you have the right basic skillset, we're willing to train the right individual in further skillsets. While the work is generally performed in the customer's home, we also place a lot of emphasis on cleanliness and professionalism. We want our customers to rave about the care our technicians take in caring for their home and the cleanliness of the process. We use an array of professional tools to guarantee that we can limit the dust and mess as much as possible. Our technicians typically work by themselves although, for occasional larger jobs, we may have 2-3 people onsite for a few days at a time.

Salary is based on experience and qualifications. Performance bonuses in addition to base pay are possible after a training period and, in fact, we strive to provide our technicians as many opportunities for performance bonuses as possible.

Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of working with drywall finishing or repairs required
  • Experience in construction, carpentry, or home repair a plus
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record

Candidates are required to possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to submit to a pre-employment background investigation and drug test.

Compensation: $17.00 - $35.00 per hour

About PatchMaster

There's a reason why damage to walls and ceilings often goes unaddressed. Let's face it, and drywall repair is not the most DIY-friendly home improvement project for even a relatively handy person to attempt. There's a skill and an art to it-both of which our PatchMaster technicians have down pat.

PatchMaster approaches each job systematically with an experienced hand and, more importantly, an expert eye. This expertise is critical when it comes to blending the repair with the original surface. What's more, we'll work with you until it's an exact match, even if it means coming back.
