Job description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Federal IT Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our presence in the federal government sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and contributing to the overall growth of our IT solutions within the federal market.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:
  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of the federal IT market to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential areas for growth.
  • Assess the competitive landscape and develop strategies to position our organization as a key player in federal IT initiatives.
Client Relationship Management:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key federal government stakeholders, agencies, and decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their IT needs, challenges, and goals, and position our solutions accordingly.
Business Development:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development plans to achieve revenue targets and market share growth within the federal sector.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, responding to RFPs, RFIs, and other solicitations.
Partnership and Alliance Building:
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with other businesses, contractors, and organizations to enhance our capabilities and broaden our reach.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to create joint proposals and deliver integrated solutions.
Proposal Development:
  • Lead the development of compelling and compliant proposals for federal IT projects.
  • Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure proposals align with client requirements and demonstrate our expertise.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay abreast of federal regulations, policies, and compliance requirements relevant to IT solutions.
  • Ensure that all business development activities adhere to federal regulations and compliance standards.
Reporting and Forecasting:
  • Provide regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and revenue forecasts.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop strategic plans and initiatives for federal market expansion.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in federal IT business development, with a successful track record of securing contracts and partnerships.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong network within the federal government IT community.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate market trends into actionable business strategies.
  • Experience with federal IT contracting vehicles (GSA Schedules, IDIQs, etc.).
