Our Engineering team has an opening for a National BIM Leader for our Mechanical Engineering discipline. We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home.

Position Summary

The top priority of National BIM Leader, Mechanical Engineering is to ensure that our BIM utilization is industry leading and highly efficient. Responsibilities include the growth and direction for the BIM team.

What you will do:
  • Accept input from the user group and curate the Power User Group
  • Coordinate training for DLR Group standards and best practices within the discipline
  • Provide leadership in both existing and emerging technologies
  • Curate Revit Skills Assessment questions and develop training for the DLR Group-specific portion
  • Partner with Technology, Design, and Practice forums to ensure full alignment
  • Lead the industry in BIM by driving increased utilization and efficiencies
  • Oversee BIM best practices and implement process improvements
  • Assess users' capabilities and develop training strategies to support BIM growth
  • Oversee improvements in family content creation and management
  • Lead the team to develop and implement innovative strategies, techniques, and design tools
  • Provide guidance and structure to the BIM team, fostering professional growth
  • Raise awareness of DLR Group's involvement in integrated design and sustainability by participating in conferences, forums, and panels
  • Research and implement new approaches to BIM management to maintain industry leadership
  • Continuously assess and improve the current BIM environment
Required Qualifications:
  • Previous experience leading a BIM team across multiple locations
  • Familiarity with industry-leading software, design tools, and processes
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Collaborative management style with strong people skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Experience developing and implementing a BIM strategy (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, interior design, or a related construction field
