Network Designs, Inc. (NDi) seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Communications Project Manager to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Office of Communications (AOC). This contractor role supports high-level executives, including the Political Appointee (AOC-1) and Deputy Administrator for Communications (AOC-2), ensuring the effective handling of communications priorities, project tracking, and stakeholder engagement. The Communications Project Manager will collaborate closely with senior leadership and other FAA project managers, providing key insights, progress updates, and facilitating the resolution of challenges. The ideal candidate will have a talent for managing complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges and in supporting strong relationships with peers, executives, and stakeholders as well as an unwavering attention to detail. Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • This position is a Hybrid position, requires 4 days onsite in Washington DC.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification: Demonstrated mastery of project management principles.
  • Experience with High-Level Executives: Strong background in supporting and coordinating with senior executives and political appointees, ideally in a Chief of Staff type role.
  • Strategic Communications Expertise: Understanding of FAA's communications ecosystem, particularly related to stakeholder engagement, aviation policies, strategic communications, press relations, and digital content management.
  • Technology Familiarity: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to Detail: Track record of producing high-quality, precise deliverables under tight deadlines.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Executive Support & Coordination
  • Act as a strategic partner to AOC-1 and AOC-2, helping prioritize initiatives, track key deliverables, and manage executive calendars effectively.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings with AOC staff and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Prepare briefing materials and talking points for FAA stakeholders and congressional engagements, focusing on concise, actionable insights.
Project Management & Reporting
  • Project Tracking & Reporting: Monitor the status of major executive initiatives, ensuring projects stay on track, identify risks, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and escalate project risks, slippages, and bottlenecks, developing comprehensive project dashboards and working collaboratively with project managers to devise and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Meeting Management & Reporting: Attend project meetings, document key takeaways, action items, and decisions, and ensure that follow-ups are completed in a timely manner.
  • Project Documentation & Detail Management: Maintain comprehensive records for each project, ensuring all documents are complete, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
  • Strategic Communications
  • Collaborate with AOC communications specialists to ensure messaging consistency and alignment with strategic priorities, including digital and stakeholder outreach campaigns.
  • Assist in identifying and elevating key initiatives, ensuring that executive priorities are met, and that all initiatives are properly managed

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as a liaison between AOC leadership and internal and external stakeholders, including FAA regional offices, Congress, and industry partners.
  • Support the implementation and communication of key FAA programs.
  • Work closely with other project managers to ensure all aspects of key projects are coordinated effectively, and provide support as needed to keep projects on schedule.
