Job Description Job Title: Rehabilitation Therapist Job Specialty: Physical Therapist Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Guaranteed Hours: 40 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Physical Therapist license in the working state Certifications: Maintain and update PT skills and certifications as necessary Must-Have: Computer skills necessary for job requirements
Job Description:
- Implement patient rehabilitation programs to enhance mobility, function, and strength. - Evaluate and treat patients using electronic medical records for documentation. - Guide and monitor all aspects of patient care and follow-up. - Supervise PT assistants and aides in patient care matters. - Communicate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care. - Manage accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations. - Assist in making patients comfortable and answer their questions. - Collaborate with front office staff on scheduling and patient follow-up. - Participate in business marketing and referral processes when necessary. - Comply with HIPAA policy and procedures. - Familiarize with PT billing procedures and demonstrate proficiency in DX and ICD-10 coding for billing services. - Ensure physical mobility required for extended workdays, including patient assistance and safety. - Engage in privacy training and communicate privacy policies to coworkers, students, patients, and others. - Comply with OSHA, federal, and state regulations.
Physical Demands: - Continuous walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving during work hours. - Lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds, pushing wheelchairs, and assisting residents.
Travel: - No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience: - Degree in Physical Therapy. - Preferred: Continuing education courses.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: - Must hold or plan to obtain an active license as a Physical Therapist in the state of practice.
