We are seeking experienced SAS programmer analysts to join a Biostatistical Consulting Unit to provide programming and biostatistical support to research studies in all fields of medicine led by clinicians (including medical residents).
Description of position: The programmer will support internally-funded retrospective research studies, from development of research question, study design and methods, Institutional Review Board (IRB) proposal development and approval; through analytic data base development, data analysis, interpretation of results; to development of abstracts, presentations and publications. location: Pleasanton, California job type: Contract salary: $54 - 57 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Masters

Qualifications
Required Level of Education and Preferred Level of Education: Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health or similar.
How many years of related experience are you looking for in your ideal candidate? 3 years
Specific Systems Knowledge Required: Oracle, PC, VPN
Specific Systems Knowledge Preferred: Oracle, PC, VPN
Certification?: SAS Base Programming Specialist certified + proficiency in SQL required and SAS Advanced Programming Professional certified preferred
Minimum 2 years experience with study design and statistical methods
Minimum 1 year medical or health analytics experience
Minimum 2 years statistical modeling experience using SAS, R or other advanced statistical package
Minimum 2 years experience working with SQL
Minimum 2 years experience with Excel
Minimum 1 year statistical consulting experience
Experience writing methods sections and conducting power analyses for grant proposals preferred
Publications experience as an author in medical or scientific journals preferred
Experience with KP data systems preferred but not required
Candidates must be detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment qualifications:
