Description:
We are currently seeking an individual with a strong background in Linux System Administration. Responsibilities include maintenance of a large-scale Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring system stability, security, and optimal performance. This position involves: Design, deploy, and maintain highly redundant, scalable, enterprise-class systems and services Implement and manage configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) for automation and standardization of server builds, configurations, and updates Monitor system performance, security, and availability using tools like ServiceNow, Remedy and Jira Troubleshoot complex issues and provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support Perform system upgrades, patches, and security updates Manage virtualization environments, including VMware and container technologies like Elastic, Fargate, Docker, or Kubernetes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and improve existing systems Develop and maintain documentation for systems and processes Mentor peers and provide technical leadership Implement and validate Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) Manage user access, including individual and group assignments to applications, domains, and systems Maintain disk space on Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) architectures Perform change management following established policies and procedures Ensure vulnerability and anti-virus software agents and definitions are current Mitigate vulnerabilities reported by IT security scans and industry reports Develop and maintain Continuity of Operations (COOP) information and materials Develop, execute, and audit backup procedures, including data restoration when necessary Required Experience and Skills: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience Minimum 7 years of experience in Linux system administration, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification 6 month CompTIA Security+ Certification Active Secret security clearance Strong knowledge of Linux networking, security, and performance tuning Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) Proficiency in shell scripting and automation Familiarity with virtualization technologies and containerization Experience with monitoring and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira) Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Preferred Experience and Skills: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification Experience working with the U.S. Air Force as a civilian, contractor, or service member Release Management experience Familiarity with U.S. Air Force Standard Desktop Configuration for Windows Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) Knowledge of database administration (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools Hours: Full Time Scheduled hours between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday May require participation in rotating schedule for off-shift and weekend work On-call availability for maintenance and emergency situations Benefits: Group health care plan Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) plan 120 hours of vacation and paid time off 12 paid holidays per year
