Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Delivery Driver and Shipping Clerk in our Retail Services area. This position is responsible for the pickup, organization and delivery of incoming and outgoing mail and packages along with occasional window sales and services, meter operations, and tracking processes related to mail and packages. This is a full time (2080 annual hours) which reports to the Manager of Postal and Print Services.
QUALIFICATIONS: • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Ability to learn the intercampus mail delivery route, the village Post Office pick-up and delivery processes, and the Xenia Post Office responsibilities for standard mail. • Ability to work alongside multiple employees through various processes of mail operations. • Ability to use email and learn new software skills as needed. • Ability to learn the processes involved in determining correct postage for outgoing mail as well as prepping those items to be mailed. • Ability to operate various equipment including a cash register, computer, postage meter, folder inserter, high speed printer and other bindery equipment. • Proficient in Excel and Word. • Ability to safely operate a box truck and the accompanying lift, possess a valid driver's license with good driving record. • Ability to deliver departmental mail and packages in a timely fashion, following established procedures and guidelines.
REQUIRED MENTAL/PHYSICAL ABILITIES • The job requires a service-oriented individual who enjoys working with various people including faculty, staff, students, and outside vendors. • Ability to receive and interpret written and oral instruction. • Ability to maintain integrity of postal regulations with a high level of confidentiality. • Ability to use handheld computer devices to capture and transmit delivery data to the package tracking system. • Position requires pickup of mail during holidays as needed. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Ability to twist and turn, bend and pull, stand or walk for long periods of time on various surfaces or heights. • Ability to function in in-climate weather. • Ability to daily climb stairs holding boxes and to carry large items from one place to another.
