Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Engineer to design and develop scalable containerized applications with a focus on high performance and customer-centric reliability. The role involves implementing industry-standard resiliency patterns, integrating service meshes for enhanced networking and observability, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will also bring expertise in spec-driven development, logging, and telemetry solutions to proactively address customer-impacting issues in an enterprise-scale environment.

Key Responsibilities:

•Design and develop OpenShift applications with a focus on scalability and enterprise performance.

•Implement resiliency patterns, including circuit breakers, retries, and bulkheads, to ensure system availability and protect the customer experience.

•Integrate service meshes like Istio or Linkerd to enhance networking, security, and service observability.

•Apply spec-driven development practices, using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI, to maintain API consistency across applications.

•Prioritize logging, telemetry, and monitoring using tools such as ELK Stack, Prometheus, and Grafana to ensure proactive performance monitoring.

•Configure and optimize Linux-based operating systems for secure and stable OpenShift application deployment.

•Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, Harness, and GitHub Actions to enable automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.

•Provide on-call support using tools like PagerDuty, OpsGenie, and VictorOps to resolve incidents promptly and maintain system uptime.

•Collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to share best practices and mentor developers in OpenShift application development.

Required Qualifications:

•5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on containerized applications, OpenShift, and Kubernetes in large-scale enterprise environments.

•Strong technical proficiency with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker.

•Proven experience implementing resiliency patterns like circuit breakers, retries, and bulkheads.

•Expertise in spec-driven development practices such as OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.

•Hands-on experience with logging and telemetry tools, including ELK Stack, Prometheus, and Grafana.

•Solid understanding of Linux-based operating systems, including configuring OS-level settings for security and performance.

•Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Harness, and GitHub Actions to build automated deployment pipelines.

•Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Experience with OpenShift Operators, Helm charts, and custom resources.

•Knowledge of service meshes like Istio or Linkerd for enhanced communication and security.
