Devops Lead Engineer

Has full technical knowledge and responsibility of all phases of the system life cycle as they pertain to Software Release Management and Configuration Management. Understands software baseline management practices and principles. Understands the business or function for which CM/Devops applies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in devops and best practices to help the team achieve business goals. Senior-level candidate applicants who are experienced CM and Devops professionals with 10 years of experience or 8 years of experience with a relevant Masters degree may apply.

Ability to conduct and facilitate Configuration Control Board (CCB) to manage changes to software and hardware baselines as needed. Experience writing, updating, and maintaining program CM Plan and Release Plan documentation Experience with systems engineering a plus. Interest in learning new technologies Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, MicroServices, REST APIs, JMeter/Selenium Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, Thorough understanding of DevOps culture Collaboratively work with delivery teams and software engineers to implement enterprise DevOps solutions, enable best practices, help automate and streamline operations and processes, and troubleshoot issues within various environments Serves as a subject matter expert and/or provides direction on the design and development of automation builds, deployments, and environment build outs Give technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations Lead and mentor other members of the CM/DevOps team Ability to interface with, and build strong relationships with multiple levels of management and cross functional teams of peers. Experience conducting software builds in a UNIX and windows environment. Containerization, Docker, Kubernetes Administration, Jenkins, Nexus Experience with Ansible and scripting Experience with GIT and GitLab software baseline management and versioning tools Experience with IBM Rational products such as Rational Team Concert, and Collaborative Lifecycle Management. Strong organizational and schedule management skills, excellent team skills. Strong ability to multi-task, Ability to energize the team. Strong verbal and written communication, coordination, and planning skills. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
