Description
Under the direct supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will perform all necessary job requirements to ensure that the golf course is always maintained at the highest level of quality possible.
Requirements
Must possess a two or four-year certificate in Turfgrass, or have substantial years of experience in golf course maintenance Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the golf course management industry, preferably previous experience as a First or Second Assistant Superintendent Be able to perform and train employees on all tasks related to golf course irrigation, maintenance, and safety Highly motivated individual with the ambition to excel and advance in the golf course management profession Experience working or managing at a high output championship-style golf course or golf club Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and staff Basic understanding of the rules of golf Thorough knowledge of pesticide usage and integrated pest management Expert in pesticide and fertilizer applications Must possess a California Applicator's Certificate or have the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment Thorough knowledge of irrigation, including daily adjustments, repairs, field fine tuning, and upkeep General knowledge of maintaining landscape grounds and small irrigation associated with ornamental plants Be able to assist in leading, motivating and facilitating the crew along with the Superintendent in a team atmosphere Enforce rules, guidelines and safety procedures of the Golf department and all hotel policies Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
