What You'll Do:
The Data Systems Analyst position is an excellent opportunity to move Salem Public Schools forward in their mission of using data to enhance teaching and learning. This position will be integral for ensuring systems are built to create ease of access to applications for students, teachers and administrators. Additionally, the Data Systems Analyst will create systems and structures to ensure accurate data collection and reporting via our student information system and other databases.
Role Responsibilities: Configure and maintain electronic transfers between internal systems and external third-party services, data suppliers, and regulatory agencies Make minor modifications to our core data systems including Aspen, TeachPoint and other databases. Support teachers with attendance recording, gradebook and conduct referrals. Work with the Data Team to audit and prepare records for state reporting purposes. Make rubric and standard adjustments as requested by curriculum, instruction and assessment leads. Building and editing custom reports from Aspen as needed. Assist families with their Aspen portal accounts and online registration and forms. Identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, or improve applications and systems; develop and present recommendations as appropriate. Respond and resolve helpdesk calls and tickets. Three or more years of successful employment as an applications specialist, database specialist, and/or software project manager Experience in an educational setting is a plus Demonstrated experience with student information systems (preferably Aspen) is a plus Demonstrated experience with relational databases, account provisioning, and management Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Second Language (Spanish) proficiency a plus Current authorization to work in the United States
