Job Summary

The Front-End Developer will be responsible for translating design concepts into fully responsive, branded web interfaces. This role involves building and maintaining a Figma component library and page templates to ensure consistent branding across the District Office and seven college websites. The developer will work closely with the OIT and MARCOM teams to deliver web projects from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with institutional goals. The role will also focus on enhancing brand cohesion and optimizing the user experience across various digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design Translation and Development

Translate high-fidelity designs from Figma into fully functional, responsive web pages.

Develop and maintain a Figma component library that reflects the unique branding of the District Office and each college.

Ensure web pages adhere to brand standards, creating a unified digital identity across all platforms.

Project Execution and Collaboration

Lead front-end development for web projects, collaborating with MARCOM, OIT, and CCC teams to ensure successful project execution.

Participate in cross-functional meetings to gather requirements, share progress, and refine deliverables.

Ensure cohesive UX/UI design that adheres to accessibility and usability standards.

Technical Development and Maintenance

Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).

Implement and maintain CSS frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS) for consistent styling and functionality.

Develop and maintain WordPress templates supporting CCC's content management strategy for usability and scalability.

Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize front-end code to improve site performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility.

Quality Assurance and User Experience

Conduct QA testing, including cross-browser and device compatibility checks.

Ensure adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA) for an inclusive user experience.

Collect and act on feedback to refine design translation and development processes.

Participate in site launches and migrations, testing cross-browser functionality.

Brand Cohesion and Component Management

Maintain brand consistency across digital platforms by building a Figma component library aligned with evolving brand standards.

Collaborate with MARCOM teams to integrate new branding elements into component libraries and templates.

Support content and design updates to ensure a consistent user experience.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics/Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional certifications.

Experience

Minimum of three years of front-end development experience, particularly with translating design into code.

Technical Skills Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) with an emphasis on responsive, mobile-first UI/UX design. Expertise in Figma for component library management and high-fidelity design implementation. Experience with CSS frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS) and modern JavaScript libraries. Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA) and inclusive design best practices. Familiarity with form tools (e.g., Gravity Forms) and image library management. Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and code optimization for cross-browser compatibility. Preferred Qualifications

PHP and WordPress development knowledge is a plus. Experience in building custom WordPress themes and understanding of content management systems (CMS). Additional experience in UI/UX design and front-end development best practices is a plus.

Certifications

Any relevant certifications in web development, UX/UI design, or front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue) are a plus.
