Description

Overview:

CCI is looking for a motivated Engineer in Training (EI) to join our Water/Wastewater Engineering team. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional eager to develop technical skills and work on a wide range of water and wastewater projects. The EI will support senior engineers and project managers in design, permitting, and construction oversight, gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior engineers and/or project managers with the design and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure, including pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and technical specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Perform data collection, site visits, and inspections to support project designs and evaluations.
  • Coordinate with public utilities and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance.
  • Support the preparation of reports, project documentation, and permit applications.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
  • Engineer in Training (EI) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Foundational knowledge of water and wastewater engineering principles and methods.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Work onsite in our Knoxville office in addition to the company's Hybrid Policy benefit.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Internship or co-op experience in water/wastewater engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling and design software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Basic understanding of regulatory standards and permitting processes for water and wastewater projects.
