MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma required.
NYS CDL with Passenger ("P") and School ("S") endorsement
REPORTS TO:
Superintendent of Building and Grounds
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Good knowledge of driving safety practices and traffic laws and regulations; ability to operate a bus under difficult driving and road conditions. Ability to make minor repairs to vehicle; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to get along with children; working knowledge of grounds maintenance activities; dependability; mechanical aptitude. Other duties as assigned.

MAJOR DUTIES:
- Operate a school bus on a regular schedule or on special occasions, while maintaining orderly conduct of children on the bus.
- Checks the operating condition of the bus before beginning a trip; refills gasoline tanks, maintains clean bus.
- Maintains grounds by mowing, raking, cutting, rolling, reseeding and fertilizing lawns. Additionally, maintaining trees, shrubs and plants on the grounds. Operating and performing routine maintenance on equipment used.
- May supervise and participate in the maintenance of all the athletic fields. Additionally, keeping grounds free of litter and debris.
- May supervise and participate in the removal of snow and ice from walks, driveways, steps and building entrances.
- When not working as a bus driver or groundskeeper, performs custodial work both inside and outside of the buildings as needed.
